Which Toy Riding Horse Does Your Little One Need?

Defined Tag:

The toy riding horse is a classic, but still very popular pastime for many a preschooler. The toy is can be found in a couple of different forms, and the one that you choose is up to you and the children that will be playing with it. Consider the two primary types of toy riding horse and you will know what is right for your situation,

The first type of riding horse to consider is the rocker. The rocking horse is a classic that is essentially a wooden or plastic horse sitting on rockers not unlike those on a chair. A child can actively ride to the rocking rhythm of their toy horse. The real upside is the variety available. You can buy commercial rocking horses at most toy stores, but there are also custom made wooden ones that many local woodworkers can make for you. A rocking horse is one of those toy riding horses that can become an heirloom.

The second type of riding horse is the broomstick horse. If you have never seen one, a broomstick horse is essentially just a broomstick with a horse’s head at the end of it. The idea is that the child can straddle the horse’s “body” and ride him all around. The child’s legs take them around in reality, but their imaginations have them riding their mighty steed throughout the west. The biggest upside to this type of toy riding horse is that it is cheap and takes up very little space.

Finding the right toy riding horse is important. That is because it is a classic toy that hits on the imagination. Whether you get a rocking horse or broomstick horse for the little cowboy or cowgirl in your life, it will be an imaginative gift that they can enjoy for years.
